HISTORY INSTRUCTOR
(Full-time, three year project position)
The University Studies Department requires a History Instructor. This is a three-year project position (with the possibility of renewal) commencing August 25, 2008.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering university-level courses including Canadian history, World History, and other courses related the instructor's area(s) of expertise. Also the successful candidate will be required to design/revise/update courses, in consultation with the Chair, faculty, other universities, and students. Other responsibilities include carrying out regularly scheduled instruction, ensuring student awareness of course objectives, approach, and evaluation techniques while defining, evaluating, and validating learning outcomes. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in both Departmental and College affairs, particularly with respect to recruitment, tutoring, and academic advising of students as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in History. Other post-secondary teaching experience and an interest to pursue applied research are definite assets. Please supply three references with your application.
SALARY: $65,305.00 - 99,138.00 per annum based on educational and experiential qualifications plus an attractive benefits package.
