Community Services Department
Working on an “as needed” basis with no guaranteed hours of work.
Under frequent supervision, perform skilled work teaching swimming lessons to patrons in safe swimming practices and techniques, lifeguard, teach water workout and all other related courses provided by Centennial pool as well as perform janitorial maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Grade Ten (10) education.
- Current certification to include:
- Standard First Aid Certification or equivalent
- Bronze Cross Award
- Water Safety Instructor
- National Lifeguard Service
- Life Saving Society Canada (LSSC) Instructor's Certificate an asset.
- Applicants must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Previous related experience an asset.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques employed in water safety, life saving and first aid instruction.
- Ability to express ideas effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
- Basic water chemistry knowledge an asset.
- Must be medically and physically fit.
