Position Summary:

The Field Supervisor will work closely with Branch Operations Leaders to ensure the safety of field team members, coordinate with vendors and in-house delivery to support delivery, setup, knockdown and returns for all TP products. Effectively supervise all branch Field Service Technicians in support of service calls while maximizing the customer experience.

Essential Functions: Responsibilities of the Field Supervisor include, but are not limited to:

Safety/Environment

  • Conducts business in compliance with all Williams Scotsman Safety, Transportation, and Environmental Policies.
  • Conducts periodic safety meetings as well as update safety documents and logs i.e. OSHA, DOT/DQF
  • Manages employee/vendor health and safety through creating a safer workplace, conducting safety briefs, DuPont STOP™, training and observations, and regularly scheduled assessments in the field.
  • Ensures operating standards are conducted; supported by robust training and communication actions. Fully complies with all Federal, State and local laws and regulations.

Operations

  • Service- Dispatch service request calls to Field Service Technicians and vendors within 48 hours of received customer notification. Communicates with Production Supervisors to eliminate quality issues, discuss root causes, creates permanent corrective actions. Coach technicians on FTQ issues and address repeat matters.
  • Logistics- Coordinates with in-house and vendors to support delivery, installation, knockdown and return for all TP and SP products. Approves delivery and installation vendor invoices.
  • Material Management- Order, receive and distribute materials to in-house and vendor on a timely basis to support field operations. Assist with random material inventory requirements. Ensures all material required to conduct field operations are on-hand.
  • Equipment Management- Ensures safe operation of the trucks on a daily basis. Pre-trip and DOT inspections are to be completed prior to daily departure. Schedule all service and preventative maintenance on all vehicles and equipment as required. Ensures proper working condition of all tools and equipment used.
  • Fleet Readiness- Coordinate with Branch Operations Leader and conduct work order estimates, off-rent inspections of all complex units while on-rent. Assess and communicate damage billings as required.
  • VAPS- Coordinate delivery and installation for all units with VAPS assigned.
  • Maintain SWI (standard work instructions) and Best Practices, communicate to all field and vendor team members, ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Employee Engagement- Ensures employees are informed on all programs and policies. Complete mid-term and annual performance reviews at established periodicities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Customer Focus

  • Builds strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Explains all repairs and services to customers.
  • Uses Net Promoter System (NPS) to provide timely correspondence and to address internal issues.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • HS Diploma/equivalent, college degree preferred (industry experience considered).
  • 5-7 years of experience as a manager in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven effective supervisory skills
  • Prior dispatch experience helpful
  • Working knowledge of MS Office/Outlook
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple, changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clean driving record (CDL a plus but not required)
  • A desire to create the safest, most cost-effective work environment and exceed customer expectations

Requirements:

The ability to perform work in a variety of work environments from a professional office environment to branch shop environment to customer construction sites is required. Must be able to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

In order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and to move about the various work environments to train, monitor and ensure compliance with all company requirements, including safety.

Additional physical requirements include:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly on a daily basis.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand tools in a proficient manner
  • Ability to climb a ladder up to 25 feet
  • Ability to drive/travel in truck for multiple hours on a daily basis
  • Eyesight and Auditory Skills must be sufficient to meet safety expectations of the position.
  • Ability to stand and perform manual labor for multiple hours on a daily basis.

The employee must be able to verbally communicate with employees, co-workers and customers in person and by phone. The employee must also be able to travel to various work environments. Frequent and extended overnight travel is required.
