Job Description

Headquartered in Calgary, Scarlet Group of Companies is a rapidly expanding full-service security company with additional offices in Vancouver, St. John's, and Yellowknife. We are currently seeking day shift Security Guards with a background industrial security to join our team in Anzac, AB. Successful applicants will provide security services to support the Wildfires Recovery/Rebuild efforts within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Shifts will start at 7:00 am ending at 7:00 pm. The rotation is 4 days on followed by 4 days off, then 3 days on followed by 3 days off.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited:

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Obtains help by sounding alarms.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

  • Reside in Fort McMurray or Anzac
  • Available to work 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
  • A minimum of 1-year experience as a security guard
  • A full class 5 driver's licence
  • Reliable access to transportation
  • Prior security experience at port, remote, and industrial locations is considered an asset
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and comply with site specific Post Orders
  • Prior experience in municipal policing services or RCMP is considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Be driven by customer and personal service
  • Strong teamwork and partnership orientation
  • Strong critical thinking and active listening.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Reside in Fort McMurray or Anaz
  • Be available 7:00 pm to 7:00 pm
  • A valid Alberta Security Licence
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence
  • Reliable access to transportation
  • A clear 5 year Drivers Abstract
  • Standard First Aid - CPR C & AED
  • CSTS training or equivalent
  • WHIMS certification
  • Steel-toed boots
  • A willingness to submit to an alcohol and drug test
  • A willingness to complete a criminal record check.

Applicants residing outside of Fort McMurray area will not be considered unless willing to relocate without company provided location assistance. Employer will not provide relocation assistance
