Aggreko is seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and dependable Power, HVAC or Electrician Technician II in Fort McMurray, Alberta. This person will specialize in custom solutions for critical and complex applications, service, repair, and install of rental generators and associated accessories ranging from 30kw up to 2mw, or this person will also be working with HVAC and Temperature Control equipment, specializing in custom applications for critical and complex applications, service, repair and installation of rental equipment. 


  1. Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-house and on customer locations and handle repairs of equipment as directed by his/her supervisor 
  2. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of HVAC and Temperature Control equipment and documents this as directed by his/her supervisor 
  3. Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment mainly generators / diesel engines 
  4. Perform overhead services on diesel engines 
  5. Work on Air conditioners up to 70 tons, Chillers up to 200 tons including low temp chillers 
  6. Complete necessary paper work timely and accurately which may include data entry and general use of relevant computer systems and software as directed 
  7. Set up and operate equipment as directed both in-house and at customer locations 
  8. Utilize mathematical formulas to determine both nominal and effective kw requirements 
  9. Maintain thorough knowledge of and capability in reading and understanding schematics 
  10. Maintain thorough knowledge of, actively practice, and promote safe working conditions in accordance with OSHA, EPA and other required regulations dealing with safe operation of all equipment 
  11. Obtain and maintain necessary certifications required to operate any equipment as needed 
  12. Prepare various reports as directed to maintain accurate records on equipment and preventive maintenance 
  13. Ability to travel when required 
  14. Drive for results to achieve standards of excellence and achieve 'step changes' in business results 


  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field 
  • Experience working on Chillers is preferred 
  • Experience with frequency drive motors is preferred 
  • Experience servicing, testing and installing commercial or industrial diesel generators preferred 
  • Natural gas generator experience would be a plus 
  • Electrical Distribution with 3 phase up to 480v preferred 
  • Excellent customer service skills
