Information & Communication Technology Department
This is a permanent, full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week. (Two (2) positions to be filled.)
Under general supervision, assist in the monitoring of network traffic to identify problems, perform diagnostic and remedial procedures to ensure the Network is operating at optimum performance and is accessible to users in a 7/24 environment. Assist in the research to hardware equipment and software applications. Install, maintain, monitor, and perform preventative maintenance on computing and associated communications systems and Mobile Data Terminals.
This position provides second line support for users and computer services staff.
Qualifications:
- Grade Twelve (12) with a minimum two (2) year diploma in a computer-related program, specializing in computer software/hardware, PC operating systems, networking, word processing, and spreadsheet programs.
- Must be enrolled in or possess one of the following: CNA, CNE, MCP, MCSE.
- Two (2) years directly related experience.
- Experience with RIM Enterprise Solutions.
- Proven ability to read and understand a variety of complex technical manuals.
- High degree of precision and accuracy in documentation and investigative procedures.
- Highly developed organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work without supervision, use initiative and creative thinking in various functions within the job.
- Will be required to travel to the rural areas, which may require overnight stays.
- Must have a valid Alberta Class Five (5) Alberta Driver’s License.
- Must be physically and medically able to perform all of the duties of the job.
- Able to successfully complete RCMP Security Clearance.
- Salary $36.59 (Probationary Rate)
- $40.15 - $43.06 (Permanent Rates)
