Open Position/Description
 
Engineering Services Division
Planning & Development Department
This is a permanent, full-time position working forty (40) hours per week.
 
Working on broad assignments, perform engineering duties to include: system and functional planning pre-design; tender and construction contract administration; review and make recommendations on plans, project designs and proposals by consultants and developers for municipal infrastructure; and prepare technical reports.
 
Qualifications
 

  • Civil/Municipal Engineering Degree from a recognized University and Membership in the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA) or other Canadian Professional Engineers Associations.
  • Three to five years Civil/Municipal Engineering experience preferably in a municipal setting to include municipal infrastructures (water & wastewater systems, and solid-waste management facilities) design, construction, and project management are the minimum requirements.
  • Proficiency with computer applications is required.
  • Above average analytical, leadership, interpersonal, planning, problem solving and communication skills, are required.
  • Proven ability to achieve self-set goals and targets with independent initiative together with the motivation and commitment to be successful in this position.
  • Must possess a valid class five (5) Alberta driver's license (clear driving record an asset) and personal vehicle for use at work is mandatory.
  • Must be medically and physically fit to perform the duties of the position in all weather conditions.
  • Salary $40.66 (Probationary)
  • $44.64 – 47.90 (Permanent)
 
  Rates have been adjusted to reflect market conditions
