Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of vacuum trucks, high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools at heights and in confined spaces
  • Complete minor maintenance and checks on company vehicles
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property
  • Provide quality service to our clients
  • Performing a wide variety of jobs using basic construction skills and/or operating some power equipment
  • Feed conveyors, crushers and other equipment; open valves and start pumps; sort, stack, bundle and stamp materials
  • Experience around heavy equipment (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, Backhoe) is an asset
  • Identifying, distributing materials and equipment

Requirements:

  1. Clean driver’s abstract (no more than 4 demerits in the last 3 years)
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and to perform other physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs while carrying equipment
  3. Ability to work at heights above 3 meters that may require the use of special fall restraint equipment
  4. Ability to work in confined spaces such as a reactor, small vessel or trench
  5. Comfortable with the use of respiratory equipment and air supply, wearing a full face mask, carrying your source of oxygen and using supplied air
  6. Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written
  7. Ability to participate in and pass all training courses required by CEDA for this role
  8. Commitment to Health & Safety
  9. Ability to travel throughout Alberta and work flexible shifts
  10. Ability to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  11. Ability to work shiftwork (days/ nights) of 10 to 12 hours per day
  12. Ability to work outdoors
  13. Class 5 driver's license
  14. Valid CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems), OSSA and/or BSO certification preferred
  15. Previous Vacuum /High Pressure Operator experience in Oil & Gas or industrial environments
  16. Mechanically Inclined
  17. Class 1 or 3 driver’s license an asset

**These are temporary turnaround opportunities starting in February 2018. Projects typically run between 3 – 6 weeks. If you are a successful candidate you would be expected to stay on the project until it’s completion and may be moved between projects/regions depending on business needs**
