Job Description

Position Type/ Hours:
This is a permanent full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.
 
 
Position Description:
With some independent action, support, review, and manage contracts for the Information and Communications Technology Department regarding software and hardware services and products. This includes overseeing technology spending, and managing an inventory of applications. This position will also define and facilitate communication between the municipality and its providers in order to deliver software and applications according to plan and within budget, and to ensure licensing compliance.
 
Qualifications:
·          A relevant two (2) Year Information and Communications Technology Diploma from a recognized Community College, University, or Technical Institute.
·          Or a two (2) Year Business Administration Diploma which includes at least one semester’s equivalence of Information and Communications courses from a recognized Community College, University, or Technical Institute.
·          Additional courses in contract law or purchasing certifications/education are considered an asset.
·          ITIL Foundations and other computer certifications would be considered an asset.
·          Two (2) years related experience in procurement methods and or software compliance is required.
·          Knowledge of information systems terminology, concepts, practices, and regulatory standards.
·          ITIL and/or CobiT knowledge and experience would be considered an asset.
·          Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of software and hardware products and services.
·          Superb budgeting, inventory, and cost-management skills.
·          Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
·          Ability to conform to shifting priorities in spending strategies, product demands, and purchasing timelines through analytical capabilities.
·          Persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic.
·          Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.
·          Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
·          Adept at conducting research into software-related issues.
·          Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
·          Customer service skills an asset.
·          Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
·          High degree of precision and accuracy in documentation and investigative procedures.
·          Creative thinking, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required.
·          Ability to learn new operations quickly and work independently.
·          Must be physically and medically able to perform all of the duties of the job.
 
Pay / Classification Level:
PL 16
 
 
 
Salary Range:
$36.41 (Probationary Rate)                                                                                                                                    
$39.90 - $42.75 (Permanent Rates)
