This is a permanent full-time position working thirty-five (35) hours per week.

Position Description:
|
· Responsible for the outcomes of human resources management and the direct leadership of professional employees.
· Manage resources (equipment and materials) required to support the corporation.
· Initiate and manage project contracts (including suppliers, contractors, and consultants) within financial and operating standards.
· Direct staff to appropriate action on issues presented by internal and external clients.
· Develop and foster positive work environment.
· Develop and implement a policy and framework for strong client-based relationship management.
· Use a strategic approach for exploring opportunities and solving issues.
· Develop branch policies and sign-off on all material created by the branch
· Responsible for managing the corporate band and design standards.
· Implement an approach for continuously enhancing internal and external communications via creative services.
· Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert in the field of graphic design and its application to traditional and new media.
· Act for the General Manager when he/she is unavailable.
· Consult and advise department contacts regarding the creation of effective graphic material.
· Provide advice, consultation and coaching to employees who will be developing graphic materials.
· Analyse current and future needs, both at the branch level and corporate level, and provide strategic advice and creative direction, including costs and production schedules.
· Provide advice and recommendations to the General Manager on best practices applied to graphic design and online material.
· Develop and implement a vision for creative design and apply this vision to all corporate collateral.
· Develop an annual Operation Plan for the Creative Services Branch and align this plan to the Department’s Strategic Communication Plan
· Provide final design edits on all material produced by the branch.
· Develop creative services plans and strategies including production and deliverable schedules, and service level changes.
· Develop and maintain Brand Graphic Standards, Signage Standards, and Corporate Identity Standards.
· Manage workforce planning, including employee training and development programs.

Qualifications:
|
· Undergraduate degree in general arts, with an emphasis on graphic or creative design.
· Eight (8) years experience is required, four (4) of which are supervisory experience.
· Planning, organizational, project management and problem solving skills.
· Ability to multi-task and handle many competing priorities.
· Leadership, supervisory, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Superior verbal and written communication skills.
· Visual aptitude for consistency and trend-setting methods.
· Ability to be trusted with confidential information.

Salary Range:
|
$110,765 (starting range) - $141,583 (2010 Rates)
|
|
|
