Sr. Buyer/Contract Adminstrator
Keyano College is currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Senior Buyer/Contract Administrator. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
Buying Duties - The Buyer/ Contract Administrator will assist the Manager, Procurement and Contracts to procure a wide range of capital equipment, supplies and services as required by the College. This position deals directly with the College Departments in the development of the original requisition through the process of procurement of the goods or service. This position works with appropriate departments to coordinate the purchase of certain commodities such as computer and electronic equipment, and classroom and office furniture. This position advises and trains College departments on statutes, regulations, and procedures for the procurement of commodities and/or services. This position will work closely with department requesters to coach and train staff to enter requisitions using the new internal Portal, and to inquire on the status of purchase orders issued to suppliers. This position will also be responsible for the entire RFP processes.
Contract Administration Duties - The Buyer/Contract Administrator will work closely with the Manager, Procurement and Contracts to oversee the detailed administration of contracts and purchase orders from request for proposals to final contract documents, including statements of work. The Candidate will also ensure that Keyano College and its suppliers perform within the set obligations as set out in commitment documents and negotiates all modifications or deviations from contract requirements. The successful candidate will ensure that the control systems are updated with the latest commitment information and maintain accurate records of all contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will have a University Degree in Business Adminsitration and has a professional designation for Professional Purchasing Managers (PMAC) or equivalent. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience as a Senior Buyer or two years as a Contract Administrator, and a comprehensive knowledge of contract terms and conditions. Experience with Microsoft tools such as access and excel is required and experience with purchasing on the internet or e-procurement will be an asset. The candidate will also have excellent communication skills, analytical abilities and problem solving skills to allow them to consider the details and complexities of issues, while still striving for results.
SALARY: $68,738.00 per annum plus an attractive benefits package.
