Occupational Health Nurses needed to provide on-site occupational health services to the oil sands north of Fort McMurray, Alberta. Excellent wages/great rotations/flights full accommodations provided.
 
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 
 

• Provide coverage in the Medical Center to provide initial assessment, nursing interventions, and follow-up for work and non-work related illness injury or to minimize effect off illness, injury or disability to promote safe and early return to work.
• Drug and Alcohol Testing for Pre-employment, Pre-Access, Post Incident, and Reasonable Cause
• Maintain accurate health records according to company Confidentiality & Health Records Management Guidelines.
• Assessments to include: pre-employment, return to work, fitness for duty, and health surveillance testing.
• Provide case management & referrals for short-term work and non-work related illness or injury. Duties to include early case identification, assessment and intervention techniques, effective case management and referrals to mitigate barriers to ensure safe and early return to work.

• Nurses-Registered with the AARN/CARNA
• Occupational Health Nursing certification an asset
• Current CPR
• OSSA
• CSTS
• ACLS
• ITLS
• Drug and Alcohol testing certification-an asset.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all members of the health-care team
• Clinical competence required in assessment and monitoring of critically ill patients.
• Ability to use critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability with comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques as they relate to clinical assessment and treatment. Maturity and good physical and mental health, empathy, patience and tact are important qualities to possess
• Good communication and computer skills
• Audiometric and pulmonary function courses
