The Role:
 
Fort McMurray is one of Canada's youngest, fastest growing and most dynamic places. It is a close knit community with an abundance of natural beauty as well as vast energy resources. AMEC's Fort McMurray's regional office is linked to several major hub offices in Western Canada and assists in the delivery of a range of consulting services to our clients: including geotechnical, environmental, materials, transportation, and mining services. The Fort McMurray area has experienced a rapid growth in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors, all of which has and continues to provide great career opportunities. 
The successful candidate will have responsibility to: grow and sustain business and marketing goals; to oversee consistent delivery of superior client services; prepare and present proposals; prepare geotechnical/environmental technical reports for a variety of projects (oil sands, industrial, commercial, transportation and residential developments); undertake/supervise Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and contaminant remediation projects; provide leadership and project management direction to staff; build, and maintain and lead staff to a high level of team performance.
 
Ideal Candidate Profile:
A minimum of a Bachelors degree in geotechnical, geological or an environmental discipline
Currently registered or immediately eligible for registration as a P.Eng, with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta
Minimum of  6 years following graduation of progressive consulting experience providing geotechnical, materials, and/or environmental engineering services
Knowledge of and interest in geo-materials
Sound business management and development capability
Superior project management capability
A team leader, builder and team player
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Solid work ethic
