Alberta Solicitor General And Public Security , Fort McMurray - If you have experience working with young offenders, possess excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, have exceptional knowledge of case management competencies and strong decision-making abilities, you will be interested in this position!
In this role you will play an active role in offender rehabilitation and community safety. You will also ensure the compliance of young and adult offenders with supervision orders issued by the courts. You will supervise offenders in the community, compile Pre-Sentence Investigative Reports for the Courts, maintain current documentation on cases and supervise offenders in programs such as Fine Options, Community Service Orders, Probation, Conditional Sentences, Temporary Absences, and Pre-trial Release. In this role, you will have an opportunity to use your excellent time-management, writing and computer skills
Qualifications: Directly related university degree/diploma or in-service Criminal Justice Certificate is required. Preference will be given to those with recent Probation Officer experience and/or related casework/case management experience.
Note: Final candidates will be asked to complete a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
Note: If you are the successful candidate and you are either new to the Government of Alberta, or relocating to Ft. McMurray for this position, you may be eligible for the Northern Allowance Bonus.
